What questions trigger you when you think of the generation and use of (big) data? Every day we use social media, see the rise of artificial intelligence influencing our daily lives, and technology advancing. Does it make our lives better? What are the risks? How do we want to shape our future with these developments in the back of our minds?
The Ethical Data Center of Fontys ACE and its professional partners from the professional field have been challenged to address these questions using their background in design, economics, communication and digital business. The project was shown in an exhibition in order to be inspired by their quests, solutions and designs.
CamGuard is designed for privacy-conscious individuals who are increasingly aware of the growing surveillance in public spaces. The target group includes young professionals, tech-savvy users, and those concerned with protecting their personal data and digital identity.
As part of my semester project at school, I contributed to the UX copywriting for key app features, including the camera detection and alert systems. I crafted intuitive messaging that guided users seamlessly through processes such as granting camera access, deleting footage, and adjusting privacy settings. I also designed a clear, actionable FAQ section that answered common privacy concerns.
CamGuard is positioned as a unique solution in the privacy protection space, leveraging user insights to address growing concerns over surveillance and data security.
