A Brut IPA was first brewed in San Francisco and has been taking the world by storm since 2017. This emerging beer style is a very dry champagne. In a Brut IPA, the dry body is paired with the hoppiness of an IPA. The collaboration with Jopen needed a article to tell the audience all about its origin and flavor.
For this beer I wrote an article, a newsletter and a post for social media (Instagram and Facebook).
One of the challenges I faced when writing this article was finding information about Brut IPAs. This is a relatively new style of beer, so there is not a lot of information available about it. I was able to find some information online, but I also had to reach out to brewers and beer experts to get more information.
Another challenge I faced was how to describe a beer since it was my first blogpost in this area. I was learning my own writing style and how to spread it across a blog, a newsletter and the social media posts.
The best way to write about a new beer that I did not know of, was to join a beer and gastronomy tasting. Three beers were tasted with a dish, and the audience chose which one fit the best. Eventually the winning beer was put together on the menu with the dish. And – fun fact – Blame It On The Monks won its round!
